How to Find and Select a Great Realtor®
Buying or selling a house is one of the most important transactions you will make in your life. It is important that you choose the right person to guide you through this complicated process.
Here are some techniques we suggest you use as you search for a great real estate agent:
- Find out how much experience they have and how many homes have they have sold/purchased. Also find out how many years they have been a broker and how long they have operated in your local market.
- Find out what strategy they will use to sell or buy a home. For example, if you are selling a home, how will they market your home for sale? Will it be on the MLS? How do they plan to market it online? How will they determine the listing price? If you are buying: How will they find new homes on the market, and how will they notify you about homes for sale that might be of interest to you?
- Make sure you interview agents from various companies and real estate brokerages.
- If you're selling, find out what their listing price to selling price ratio is.
- Ask your Realtor® why you should work with him/her. Most homebuyers or sellers want to work with a Realtor® who is honest, trustworthy, returns calls/emails fast, and who is very experienced.
